Another inspiring International Women’s Day was held at the beautiful Waterfront Restaurant a space filled with generosity, heartfelt stories, and the collective power of women.
We extend our deepest thanks to Annie O’Connor, Jeanette Allom Hill, Catherine Molloy, and Emma Lilly for gifting us their time and voices, so we could honour the highs and lows of being a woman in this time and place.
WomenKind began here in Noosa several years ago with a simple mission:
To bring women together, to connect through shared stories, and to be of service to other women.
Born from the success of a very special fundraising ball where nearly $300,000 was raised during Covid to support local counselling services a group of passionate women came together to form a not-for-profit, determined to continue supporting our community.
Since then, we’ve hosted breakfasts, lunches, and more magical balls, always working toward a shared dream:
To create a haven for women in need.
With a signed MOU in place with the Salvation Army, we’ve continued to raise funds and help realise that dream. Thanks to those efforts, a safe car park for women has now been secured offering women sleeping in their cars a safe space to rest, shower, wash clothes, and access support.
Just last week, one woman experienced her first night of undisturbed sleep in six months, no longer afraid of being discovered.
We are deeply proud to have walked beside women in these quiet yet life-changing moments.
This year marks a new and exciting chapter for WomenKind.
We are expanding our impact and deepening our service by becoming a philanthropic charity.
Here’s what’s new:
We are a community of women helping women in our community.
We welcome others to join us:
If you have skills in marketing, fundraising, events, grants, or investment, we would love to hear from you.
Heartfelt thanks to our local women in business for donating prizes, to our incredible musicians for sharing their gifts, and to our devoted WomenKind team:
Annie O’Connor, Joanne Mitchell, Emma Lilly, Narelle Cameron, Lea Taylor, Angela Fowler, and Nikki Angelucci.
Special thanks to Zanette Perinoni, who continues to support two young Hazara girls living in hiding in Pakistan – a quiet, powerful example of compassion without borders.
And finally, our warmest gratitude to Di Henshall and Hive Financial for generously sponsoring this very important day.
Together, we are WomenKind.
And together, we make change.

At WomenKind Australia Inc., we're on a mission to make a real difference in the lives of women and families in our community. We're excited to introduce our fundraising campaign 'Raise the Roof and Buy a Brick' campaign, an opportunity for you to be part of something truly special.
Imagine being part of a project that provides shelter, safety, and hope to those who need it most. With your support, we're building a haven for women and children affected by domestic violence on the Sunshine Coast.
By buying a brick or contributing to our campaign, you become a vital part of this transformative project. Your brick isn't just a piece of construction; it's a symbol of hope and resilience. Together, we're raising the roof to provide comfort and security, ensuring that no one has to face domestic violence alone.
Join us in creating a brighter future. Together, we can make a lasting impact and build a stronger, safer community for all and fight against domestic abuse. Purchase a brick, make a donation, and be a part of our 'Raise the Roof and Buy a Brick' campaign today."
